1. Set up your

Watch set-up video

  • Unpack Kubi and parts.
  • Attach Kubi to it's base with the provided screw.
  • Fully stretch Kubi's arms and securely insert your tablet in landscape orientation.
  • Connect the mini-USB cable to the wall AC adapter.
  • Press the power button on the front center of the Kubi.

Download setup instructions

  • Unpack Kubi and parts.
  • Align the Kubi with the anti-rotation pin on it's base.
  • Use the provided tool to insert the larger screw through the base and into the Kubi.
  • Use the other side of the same tool to install the arms with the remaining 2 screws.
  • Attach both bottom and the top right tablet clips with the 3 security screws.
  • Insert the tablet into the 3 clips.
  • Attach the remaining tablet clip and screw it into place.

  • After you mount your tablet in Kubi, connect the microphone to the headphone jack.
  • Press the power button on the left side of the speaker.
  • A micro-USB charging cable for the speaker is also included.


2. Set up your tablet

Connect to Wi-Fi (or 4G LTE)
Turn on Bluetooth
  • From the home screen, tap Settings.
  • Tap Bluetooth.
  • At the top, move the slider to the right so that it turns green.
  • Do not connect your Kubi device from the Bluetooth menu.

*Bluetooth 4.0 LE or higher is required.

3. Choose an App

We recommend the following services that have native integration for Kubi:

Setting up Kubi on Zoom Download instructions

*Important: Do not install Kubi Control with Zoom. Zoom provides native Kubi integration.

One-time setup
  • Go to Zoom.us and login to your account.
  • Account Owner Only: Under 'Account Settings', go to the 'Integrations' area and check the box next to 'Kubi:'
  • Under 'Profile Settings', check the box next to 'Far end camera control:'
  • On your tablet, open the Zoom app and tap 'Settings:'
  • Ensure 'Enable Kubi Robot Device' is ON.

Join a Zoom meeting with Kubi
  • Make sure your Kubi is powered ON.
  • In Zoom, under the Home tab, join a meeting.
  • Ensure the light on the Kubi turns blue.
  • Ensure the "Kubi Connected" button in the middle left while in meeting is blue
  • Your Kubi is ready to be controlled remotely!

Using Kubi with Zoom - Connecting from a Mac or PC
  • Download the latest version of Zoom.
  • After you've joined a meeting, click Gallery View.
  • Any participant with a Kubi available will have a 'Kubi' icon in the bottom right of their thumbnail.
  • Hover your mouse over the frame of the Kubi you'd like to control.
  • Click the blue 'Connect Kubi' button:
  • Arrow key controls will appear in the bottom right. You can also control with keyboard arrow keys.
  • To allow others to control, click 'Disconnect Kubi.'

Using Kubi with Zoom - Connecting from an iPad
  • Download the latest version of Zoom.
  • After you've joined a meeting, tap 'Participants.'
  • Tap the Kubi device you'd like to control.
  • Tap 'Request Camera Control':
  • Arrow controls will appear in the bottom center.
  • To allow others to control, click 'Give Up Camera Control.'

*Important: Do not install Kubi Control with Vidyo. Vidyo provides native Kubi integration.

Join a meeting with Vidyo on Kubi
  • Download and login to the "Vidyo on Kubi" app.
  • After login, your Kubi will automatically connect and you will see 'Kubi Connected' in the lower left corner of the Vidyo on Kubi app.
  • Join a meeting; your Kubi is ready to be controlled remotely!

Controlling a Kubi Remotely in a Vidyo Meeting from a PC or Mac
  • Join a Vidyo meeting.
  • Click the participants list:
  • Find the Kubi participant, then click the camera control button:
  • Control Kubi Using the on-screen arrow keys.

Controlling a Kubi Remotely in a Vidyo Meeting from an iOS or Android device
  • Join a Vidyo meeting.
  • Double-tap the Kubi participant to be controlled to expand to full screen.
  • Tap the camera icon in the upper right corner.
  • Control Kubi Using the on-screen arrow keys.

Using Kubi Video Download instructions

One-time setup
  • Download the Kubi Video app from the app store.
  • Launch the app and follow the set-up instructions.
  • Auto-Answer can be enabled in Settings.

Using Kubi Video
  • Call another Kubi by typing the name of the other Kubi on the 'Call a Kubi' area.
  • Receive calls by providing the name you specified during set-up (also appears at the bottom left of the Kubi Video home screen) or by sharing the link displayed by tapping the 'Invite' button.
  • Calls can be placed and received from Chrome or Firefox browsers on a PC, Mac, or Android device by going to kubivideo.me. Or, from an iPad, just download the Kubi Video app.


For other video apps, use Kubi Control for 3rd party integration:

One-time setup
  • Download the Kubi Control app from the app store.

Using Kubi with 3rd Party Video Applications
  • Launch the Kubi Control app
  • The Kubi will automatically connect
  • Tap 'Invite' and email the control link to the remote participant(s)
  • Press home, and connect your video call as usual
  • The remote user will receive a URL link to click that will provide graphical control of the Kubi
  • The user should open this link in their browser, then start the video call as usual in a separate window
  • Since both windows must be visible simultaneously, we suggest scaling the size of both windows accordingly or using 2 monitors.
  • During the call, the remote user can click on this graphical interface to move the Kubi around
*Important: Do not use Kubi Control with Zoom, Vidyo, or Kubi Video, as each of these services provide native integration.


Advanced Apps:

One-time setup
  • Set up a recurring meeting using your Zoom Pro account. Ensure the 'Join Before Host' option is enabled.
  • Download the Kubi Quick app from the app store
  • Open the app and tap the settings button in the top right
  • Enter your Zoom account email, password, and the Meeting ID from the recurring meeting you just created
  • Edit this Meeting ID when you would like the Kubi to auto-join a different meeting

Using Kubi Quick
  • Launch the Kubi Quick App
  • Tap 'Start Meeting'
  • Ensure the light on the Kubi turns blue and the "Kubi Connected" button on the left middle of the tablet screen is blue. Your Kubi is ready to be controlled remotely!

One-time setup
  • Insert the iPad into the Kubi in Portrait orientation (important)
  • Download the Kubi Animate app from the app store
  • Launch the app; the Kubi will automatically connect
  • Note: If the Kubi doesn't connect, try 'sleeping' the iPad with a quick press of the power button then re-waking the iPad with the home button.
  • Tap ‘Create New' in the upper right corner
  • Select any previously recorded video stored on the iPad from the 'Choose a Video' list or tap 'Import from Camera Roll' to load from the iPad photo/video library
  • Tap ‘Record' to play the video
  • While recording, manually move the Kubi in the desired directions along with the video playback
  • When complete, tap ‘Stop', then tap ‘Save' in the upper right corner
Playback
  • Insert the iPad into the Kubi in either Landscape or Portrait orientation
  • Launch the Kubi Animate app
  • From the main menu, tap the video you'd like to play
  • Tap anywhere on the video to begin or stop playback
  • If you'd like the video to play continuously, enable the 'loop' slider
